Privacy Notice

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This privacy notice explains how Kent Vehicle Storage collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit our website, ask for a quote or store a vehicle with us.

Who we are

Kent Vehicle Storage is a trading name of Praesidium Motus Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 16367008). Our registered office is 108 Shorncliffe Road, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2PG. This is our company address, not our storage site.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under reference ZB906616. If you have any questions, please email contact@kentvehiclestorage.co.uk or call 07932 970154.

The information we collect

  • Enquiries: your name, email address, phone number and the details you give us about your vehicle and the storage you need.
  • Customers: your name, address and contact details, details of your vehicle (such as make, model and registration), your storage agreement, and payment records (we don’t see or store your full card details).
  • Access and collection: records of when your vehicle is accessed or collected, and the details of anyone you authorise to collect it on your behalf.
  • CCTV: our storage facility is protected by CCTV, so images of people visiting the site may be recorded.
  • Website visits: anonymous visitor counts, such as pages viewed and the country a visit came from, using Cloudflare Web Analytics. This doesn’t use cookies or identify you.

How we use your information, and why

Under UK data protection law, we need a lawful reason to use your information. We rely on:

  • Contract: to reply to your enquiry, give you a quote, and provide your storage and any extra services you choose.
  • Legal obligation: to keep financial records required by HMRC and other laws.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep our facility, vehicles and customers secure (including CCTV), to protect our website from spam and misuse, and to understand how our website is used, in ways you would reasonably expect.

We don’t send marketing emails, and we never sell your information.

Who we share your information with

We only share your information where it’s needed to run our business, with trusted providers who process it on our behalf and are required to keep it secure:

  • 123 Reg: website hosting and email
  • Microsoft: Outlook email software
  • Xero: accounting and invoicing
  • Stripe and GoCardless: processing card and Direct Debit payments
  • Cloudflare: anonymous visitor counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics) and spam protection on our enquiry form (Turnstile)
  • Transport partners, if you ask us to arrange collection or delivery of your vehicle
  • our accountants and professional advisers, and the police, HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it

International transfers

Some of our providers, such as Cloudflare, Microsoft, Stripe and Xero, may store or process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards required by UK law, such as UK adequacy regulations (including the UK-US Data Bridge) or approved contract terms.

Cookies

Our website doesn’t use cookies to track you, and we don’t use analytics, advertising or social media cookies. That’s why there’s no cookie banner. WordPress, the system our website runs on, only sets cookies for the people who log in to manage the site.

How long we keep your information

  • Enquiries that don’t lead to storage: up to 12 months from your last contact
  • Customer and storage records: up to 12 months after your storage ends
  • CCTV recordings: overwritten automatically after a short period, unless we need to keep footage to look into an incident
  • Financial records, such as invoices and payments: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required by HMRC

After these periods, we securely delete or anonymise your information.

Keeping your information secure

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure, password-protected systems, website security monitoring and encrypted connections (SSL) on our website.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct information that’s wrong or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need it
  • ask us to restrict or stop using your information in certain circumstances
  • object to us using your information based on our legitimate interests
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere

To use any of these rights, email contact@kentvehiclestorage.co.uk. We’ll respond within one month. There’s normally no charge.
